About the Business Development Specialist (CONTRACT) Role

The Business Development Specialist (Contract) role contributes to’s Social Impact Organization.  Business Development Specialists are responsible for researching potential partners based on data and qualifying leads at the initial stages in the sales funnel. This internship or contract position requires an ambitious self-starter and someone that can effectively process both outbound/inbound inquiries and identify qualified leads and opportunities. Relationship selling skills, with the ability to manage sales calls at varying levels of customer accounts, are essential.


  • Research potential partners based on a data driven set of parameters
  • Outreach to prospects generated by variety of outside sources
  • Follow-up on inbound marketing leads and identify qualified opportunities providing appropriate 
    levels of information at the right time for interested prospects
  • Identify key players, researching and obtaining business requirements, and presenting solutions to begin sales cycle
  • Set appointments for team members when a lead reaches a qualified stage
  • Collaborate with sales and marketing team members on strategic sales approach


  • Exceptional communication skills, both oral and written, coupled with excellent listening skills and a positive and energetic phone presence
  • Extremely self-motivated with a diligent work ethic
  • Ability to use data to make informed decisions
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to effectively research based on given parameters
  • High level of integrity and strong commitment to building a successful company
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
  • Adept computer skills including proficiency with Microsoft Office (specifically Excel)
  • Experience with CRM applications preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred, high school diploma or equivalent required


  • Computer with a headset for phone calls
  • Reliable Internet access
  • A quiet space to conduct in- and out-bound phone calls
  • Available to work at least 15 hours per week during business hours
